Agonda Beach, Goa, India

After the tranquil joys of Kerala we caught a night train from Aluva up to Goa. Because we had left ticket booking to the last minute the train berth’s were 3rd class, and aisle, still it makes the destination all the sweeter when the journey is so arduous. I’d visited Agonda beach, (which is in the far south of Goa state) on my first trip to India 8 years ago. A place I fell in love with then, and found hard to leave. A few more restaurants, hotels and yoga retreats have opened since then but it still retains a laid back atmosphere which continues to draw couples and families. The food is amazing and varied, and the beer is cold and cheap – what more could you want?!
