Day one in Lima, fog lingers over the city throughout the morning. During my first exploration I find little in the Miraflores area of interest. A visit to Huaca Pucllana provides distraction for an hour but this is a modern, built up part of the city, and I could be in any city suburb in the world really. However during the afternoon the sun seems to miraculously appear through the clouds, and the possibility of getting some photos taken on this first day increases tenfold.
Down to the beach is the natural place to go, amongst lovers on the promenade, surfers returning from the sea and fishermen, I scope it out and pick a spot on Playa Waikiki.
Next stop – Cusco, tomorrow morning – into the mountains, with a reinforcement from England to arrive tonight..

Hi Ben,
I’m a reporter and editor with Peru this Week, the only English language Peruvian news source based in Peru. We have about 130,000 unique website visitors each month, 30,000 daily newsletter subscribers and 60,000 social media followers.
I stumbled across your website this evening. Your photos are amazing. That’s why I’m writing to you. I’m wondering if we might be able to publish them on our site. You would have full credit and we’d link to your site. It’d really just be a way to offer you more exposure and give our readers what they crave — photos of the nation they’re all fond of. We are a small shot, so we can’t pay you, however, you would get exposure.
Please let me know if this is something that would interest you. My email is TH@peruthisweek.com.
Cheers,
Terra
